Dr. Onat joined the University in the fall of 2016. He has previously worked in criminal justice agencies in different capacities, including as a senior researcher. He teaches courses on the system, theory, and analysis of public safety. He has been consulting and conducting research with both governmental and non-governmental institutions on criminal justice matters. He has also been active with numerous professional associations. His scholarly work has been published in a variety of outlets, books and leading journals. Dr. Onat enjoys spending time with students in and outside of his classes and helping them develop skills to shape their future career.
